Established in June 1973, The Pearl Police Department is the tenth-largest city police department in the state. All officers are equipped with today’s most modern equipment. The police are furnished body armor and require its usage. The department carries updated 9MM Semi-Automatic weapons.
All vehicles are furnished with traffic direction equipment, shotguns, and each has an MSWIN Primary Radio. Officers who live in the city have take-home units.

VICTIM ADVOCACY
The Pearl Police Department’s Crime Victim Advocacy Program is designed to assist victims of crime with support through the justice system as well as provide victims with community resources and assistance.

Pearl Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer/ Police Recruit. Requirements: Shall be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Applicants shall have NO previous convictions for felony crimes or crimes of domestic violence. Applicants shall agree to participate in an extensive selection process that includes: Physical Fitness Test, Extensive Background Investigation, Drug Screen and Psychological Examination. Applicants must possess a valid Mississippi Driver License.
Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: perform law enforcement and crime prevention work; Control traffic and enforce State and Local traffic regulations; Perform investigative work; Participate in and provide support and assistance to special crime prevention and enforcement programs as assigned; Provide courteous, efficient and responsive service to city residents and the general public; Perform other duties as assigned; Applicants are required to complete the State Minimum Standards of Training Academy.
